International Conferences Committment and Country level Prevention Programming for Youths
About this event: AIDS 2006 – XVI International AIDS Conference

With more than decade of consistent visibility at international inter-governmental and civil society conferences, one evident challenge has been the country level interpretation and application for action. My two-times role as a youth adviser o the uNFPA Executive Directors (Nafis Sadik, 1998) and Thoraya Obaid, 2004) echoed at the highest level the need to remember hat without national prioriteis and anslation these committments remain the instruments of "epistemos".

To control the future of the epidemic, young people from the Toronto conference , we need to look beyond the next conference but to start identifyng strong linkages o our national policy financing and implementaion priorities and transmogrigy youth indexes of the HIV/AIDS response to prevalence reduction, market transfer and growth, et cetera...i will go at this point to my thinking closet!

Yoth Control the future of the epidemic
About this event: AIDS 2006 – XVI International AIDS Conference

In my quiet reminesence, i brooded over my invitation to Co-Chair a Youth Abstract oral session of 'the future of the epidemic' and my work on the human agency and pshchology of youth power to halt the further spread of HIV, launch a most needed prevalence reverse and lighten visionary on the "End of AIDS".
Is it fashionable to be; in the wave of youth leadership and even where so, what are the oppotunities?

In 2004, the UNFPA/UNECA/AU High level Ministerial and Experts Meeting on the 10th Anniversary of the ICPD POA in Dakar Sennegal included youths on most national delegation. As one of the youth member of national delegations of experts and as a member of the World Leaders Supporting the ICPS POA view at http://www.icpdleaderstatement.net we made significant improvement of the implementation arrangement for country level action and created financing opportunities in the inicators set fo the next ten years linking them tot he MDGs and a youth framework for action.

I am thus optimistic that the sesson will go beyond the issues of representation to transmogrifying youth concerns into efficiency terms that policy makers an political leaders understand...., i am still thinking!

Just loking into the future of the response to HIV/AIDS is impact on young people and the cacity of Afica to meet the targets and goals of the UNGASS and MDGs;......There is need to expand the influnce of our ongoing campaign for a youth trust in the Global fund as an affirmative action to youth-led implementation of projects......there in lies a proiactive move to address the challenges of the future today!
